Axopar and Targa: the evidence behind the watch list
East Coast Yacht Sales named a Targa 46 and an Axopar 29 Aft Cabin in its 2026 Bay Bridge material. The configuration detail matters: an aft-cabin boat is not identical in use to every other example of the same length. The list here is historical until a 2027 announcement replaces it. Make spring delivery a documented discussion
A spring show can sit close to the time a buyer hopes to begin boating. Separate three questions: whether a boat is available, when it can be handed over, and when you will be ready to use it. Commissioning and owner orientation belong in the conversation, not only the price of the hull.
Ask who will complete installed electronics, confirm system operation and deliver the familiarization session. Discuss where the first service will take place and how open warranty questions will be handled. Record estimates as estimates unless they are contractually confirmed.
Bring your intended home berth, bridge or lift constraints and normal passenger load to the walkthrough. Ask the dealer for the relevant dimensions of the actual configuration being proposed.
A short, useful Chesapeake comparison route
Choose a protected-helm candidate, an open-deck alternative and one wildcard that solves a different part of your mission. Test boarding, side-deck movement and cabin access with your own crew. Take matching photographs so the choices remain comparable when you get home.

Follow up with a written build sheet and an itemized delivered-price proposal. The value of the visit is a better-defined purchase, not simply more brochures.
