The 2027 Newport International Boat Show runs September 16–19. The previous edition has documented Axopar, Targa and Sargo participation, making this an important Northeast watch-list event for ABG readers. ABG brands: what is actually confirmed
The following is historical context, not the 2027 boat list. No brand or model from the earlier edition is promised for this one.

The documented Nordic-boat connection
East Coast Yacht Sales’ 2026 Newport announcement named Axopar 29, 38 and 45 and Targa 32, 37 and 41. Separately, LC8 Marine announced a Sargo 28. These specific historical connections are more useful than a generic claim that every Scandinavian builder attends Newport. Keep the prior list in your research notes, then replace it with the next edition’s actual announcement before booking travel for a specific boat. No 2026 booth or dock number has been relabeled as a 2027 location in this guide.
Compare new models without losing the ownership question
At a fall show, ask what has changed between the display boat, the previous model and the version available to order. Request a written explanation of layout, machinery and equipment differences. A model-year badge alone is not enough to understand whether a change matters to your use.
Check whether a cabin arrangement, roof format or optional aft accommodation alters the spaces your family will use. Bring the same checklist aboard each finalist and photograph corresponding areas, including the less glamorous storage and maintenance access points.
For the brand-level tradeoffs, start with Axopar versus Targa and Nord Star versus Sargo. Those are independent research comparisons, not evidence of attendance.
An in-water visit is not a sea trial
Being afloat helps you judge boarding and movement aboard, but it does not establish handling, ride or performance under load. Ask for a separate evaluation of the actual or equivalent configuration in representative conditions before making performance assumptions.
Spend the show appointment on questions you can answer there: the helm position, cabin access, usable berths, deck movement and the displaying dealer’s commissioning and service plan. Have everyone who will regularly use the boat participate where practical.
Record one unresolved question after every visit. Revisit the two finalists with those questions rather than trying to compare an unmanageable number of boats from memory.
Plan the longer Northeast research cycle
The New England Boat Show in February can serve as an earlier indoor research opportunity once its boats are confirmed. Bay Bridge in April provides a spring Chesapeake planning alternative.
Because Newport 2027 is further ahead, confirm the boat list again before committing to travel. This guide establishes the event and the research route early; it does not claim a finalized future fleet.
Questions buyers are asking
When is the Newport International Boat Show in 2027?
September 16–19, 2027, on Newport’s downtown waterfront. The organizer lists 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday.
Which ABG boats are confirmed for Newport 2027?
No exact 2027 ABG model commitment has been verified for this guide. Axopar, Targa and Sargo entries are documented 2026 participation, clearly labeled as historical.
Will a model on display necessarily be the one I can order?
Not necessarily. Ask the dealer to identify the display boat’s model year and configuration, and any differences in the proposed order or available stock.
